How to: Mail Service for Ecommerce¶
The mail can be of two types in respect of server inbound and outbound. But in terms of business purpose, the mailing service should be divided into Communication and Notification.
Definition of mailing services for business purposes¶
The mail service used to communicate with your customers: support, feedback, returns. This is the email that your customers can write to or reply to, and you will receive that email. These services do not host at your server.
These are emails which are only sent from the website and can’t be answered by your customers. You will not receive the reply to these emails. Usually, you can see “no-reply” in the name of those emails. Notifications may relate to transactions, marketing campaigns, shipping information, etc.
Please note that we set up AWS SES only for production (live) websites.
What we provide and what we don’t¶
We don’t provide Communication emails and do not manage them. We recommend using G Suite by Google, Yandex.com, Amazon WorkMail, or similar services for the purposes of communication with your customers.
We do provide the Notification solution for AWS Cloud hosting clients which is Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). Amazon SES requires special configuration to work correctly and can be set up on request for all our clients. This service is included in all AWS plans and is free of charge.
|||Please note that DNS configuration is not our area of responsibility if you aren’t hosted on our Route53. If you need help with DNS configuration, we can make it on a paid basis.|
Why choose AWS SES for Notifications (outbound)¶
Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is a cloud-based email sending service designed to help digital marketers and application developers send marketing, notification, and transactional emails. It is a reliable service for businesses of all sizes that use email to keep in contact with their customers. Amazon SES has a very high reputation and deliverability which means your emails will be delivered and seen.
